25 Essential Journaling Prompts For When You’re Feeling Stuck, Unmotivated, And Directionless

As writers, we all struggle with coming up with new ideas and new methods of sharing them. It may be tempting to either give up entirely or wait until you feel inspired. However, if you’re tired of being paralyzed by your fears and just being mediocre, you shouldn’t allow yourself to do either of those things because it’s vital for you to feel discomfort in order to grow, or you’ll never get anywhere. You don’t necessarily have to create all the time, but if you would love to create more and you hate feeling stuck, it’s time for some serious self-evaluation.

Here are some journaling prompts that can help you be more conscious of all the things that are holding you in place:

1. Take a look what you do in a typical day. What’s working and what isn’t? What are some habits you’d like to start incorporating and what are some habits you’d like to eliminate?

2. What are some major events from your past that still make you angry, sad, and fearful today? How are they affecting your ability to create genuine content?

3. Identify ten people you look up to the most. Answer honestly: are you trying too hard to be like them and not allowing yourself…
